Kongregate offers multiple Revenue Share Programs that allow developers to monetize their games using platform services and infrastructure. These combine to allow developers to enjoy up to a 70% revenue share (royalty).
Each Revenue Share Program provides different tools, integrations, and services. Because these services may vary in complexity and operational cost, the developer revenue share percentage varies by program. Program criteria may require a game to be updated to support specific Kongregate technology to be eligible.
Developers may choose the program or combination of programs that best fits their game, and so determine their revenue share. Some programs are time limited, some programs may end, and developers may choose to opt in and out of new programs as they arise.
All program terms, including participation criteria, revenue share percentages and payment schedules, can be found here.
How Revenue Share Works
Revenue generated through the Kongregate platform is shared between the developer and Kongregate according to the applicable Revenue Share Program.
Revenue may be generated through sources such as:
advertising
in-game purchases
premium game sales
subscriptions
digital assets or collectibles
marketplace transactions
platform service integrations
time-limited sponsorships and promotions
new programs from time-to-time
Developers may choose to participate in multiple Revenue Share Programs to increase a total revenue share, up to maximum of 70%.
Each Revenue Share Program specifies how revenue is calculated and distributed, as well as the requirements for participation (for example, a game may have to incorporate a specific Kongregate API and publish an updated build).
NOTE - not all Revenue Share Programs are available all of the time, and each Program will include the details of applicable time periods, rules and related criteria.
How does a developer opt-in to a Revenue Share Program?
A developer's approved games can be located in the Developer Portal, and each individual game dashboard includes a link - Royalty Revenue Share - which allows a developer to opt their game in or out of current Revenue Share Programs.
Net Revenue
Developer revenue shares are calculated based on Net Revenue, which generally means:
Gross revenue generated by the game, minus applicable deductions such as:
payment processing fees
platform service costs
refunds or chargebacks
applicable taxes
fraud prevention adjustments
The exact calculation method is defined in the applicable Revenue Share Program documentation.
Why Revenue Share Percentages May Vary
Games will have different revenue share percentages (or royalty rate) depending on which Kongregate promotions they participate in or technologies they support. These combine together up to a maximum available revenue share of 70%.
The following examples illustrate the types of Revenue Share Programs that may be available. Actual program details are published in the Developer Portal.

Payments are issued according to the schedule specified in the relevant Revenue Share Program.
Revenue Disputes
If developers believe a revenue report contains an error, they may submit a request for review within the dispute window defined in the Game License & Upload Agreement (section 3.i)
Kongregate may provide additional summary information necessary to verify revenue calculations.
Program Updates
Revenue Share Programs will evolve as the platform grows. Certain programs will be time limited.
