Kongregate provides revenue estimates through the Developer Portal. Each game has a dashboard that shows estimated revenue.
How do I get paid?
Depending on the payment method you chose when you uploaded your game, it could be:
- PayPal
- Electronic funds transfer (EFT) (US only)
You can update this in your Kongregate Account Settings.
Go to Settings -> Payment Info
How are payments calculated?
Payments are calculated based on the Net Revenue generated by your game (i.e. what remains from game revenue after taxes, refunds, and payment/transaction costs are deducted.)
Full details about revenue share, payments, reports and disputes can be found in section 3 of the Game License & Upload Agreement. Net Revenue is defined in the Definitions section of the Game License & Upload Agreement, and other criteria affecting payments can be found within each applicable Revenue Share Program.
When will I get paid?
- Revenue share payments are generally issued within 45 days after the end of the month in which the revenue was earned.
- Payments to developers are made via the payment method chosen in their account settings (see How do I get paid?, above)
- If payments due are less than certain defined thresholds, Kongregate will carry that payment forward until the amount due exceeds that threshold, or until the agreement terminates (see Payment thresholds, below)
- Kongregate may also hold payment if they do not have up to date payment information for a developer, which includes identification or tax details. These can be updated in your profile in the Developer Portal (see How do I get paid?, above)
- If anything does not look right, developers can raise a dispute within 10 business days of the monthly reconciliation from Kongregate (see DISPUTE | Can I question or dispute revenue reports?)
Payment thresholds
It is not cost effective for us to process payments below certain thresholds, including fees we are charged by payment processors. The thresholds are based on the method by which you have elected to be paid, as follows:
- PayPal - $25
- EFT - $100
- Wire - $500 (legacy developers only)
Note - these thresholds may change from time to time and we use best efforts to notify you of any changes affecting you.
Is the revenue estimate in the Portal the same as the payment I will receive?
Not necessarily. At the end of each calendar month your account will enter a 30-day verification period, to see if any fraudulent activity has occurred or other factors that may require adjustments to your revenue share balance. Following that reconciliation, a payment will be sent to you (subject to the thresholds, above). Payments typically occur 45 days after month end.
