1. Do I need to complete this form before earning revenue?
No—but you must complete it before getting paid.
- Your games will still generate revenue without this form
- However, Kongregate cannot issue payments until your details are submitted
2. What information is required?
Basic Identity Information
You’ll need to provide:
- Legal full name (not username)
- Physical address (no P.O. boxes if possible)
- Country of residence
This is required to determine applicable tax rules.
Payment Information
Depending on your selected payment method, you may need:
- PayPal email
- Bank account details (EFT/wire)
- Mailing address (for checks)
💡 Tip: Make sure your payment method matches your country:
- EFT may be U.S.-only
- Wire transfers may be required for non-U.S. developers
Tax Information
What you provide depends on your tax status:
U.S. Developers
- Must submit info equivalent to a W-9
- Includes:
- SSN or EIN
- Tax classification
Kongregate will issue a Form 1099 if applicable.
Non-U.S. Developers
- Must submit a W-8 form (e.g., W-8BEN)
- Used to:
- Claim foreign status
- Reduce withholding via tax treaties
Without a valid W-8:
- Default withholding is 30%
3. What happens if I don’t complete the tax section?
You will not be paid.
Additionally:
- Non-U.S. developers may face maximum withholding (30%)
- Payments may be delayed or blocked entirely until forms are valid
4. What payment methods are supported?
Common options include:
- PayPal
- Check
- EFT (U.S.)
- Wire transfer (international)
Each method has a minimum payout threshold:
- ~$25 → PayPal / EFT
- ~$100 → Check
- ~$500 → Wire transfer
(Thresholds may vary slightly depending on program or updates.)
5. When will I actually get paid?
Payments are not immediate:
- You reach the minimum payout threshold
- End of month processing occurs
- A ~30-day verification period applies
- Payment is issued
If you don’t hit the threshold:
- Your balance rolls over to the next month
6. Why is my payment delayed or missing?
Common reasons:
- Payment info not completed
- Invalid or missing tax form
- Revenue below payout threshold
- Fraud review or verification delay
Kongregate also notes some programs may operate on NET45 terms with higher thresholds (e.g., $500)
7. How is my revenue calculated?
Revenue is typically based on:
- Advertising revenue generated by your game
Default share:
- 25% base revenue share
Bonuses:
- +10% for Statistics API integration
- +15% for exclusivity
→ Up to 50% total revenue share
8. Can I change my payment details later?
Yes.
You can:
- Update payment method
- Change tax information
- Modify address
However:
- Changes may delay upcoming payments if made during processing
9. What happens if my information is incorrect?
Kongregate may:
- Delay payments
- Reject payouts

You are responsible for keeping all details accurate and up to date.
